Time to go Back to School

Your mornings don’t have to be stressful…

Let’s make sure we aren’t overwhelmed with all those papers shall we?!

Every year, it's the same story. I get it, I really do. When the kids go back to school, the amount of paperwork is overwhelming—especially when you have multiple children. Each child should have their own designated space for their papers to avoid confusion. A couple years ago, I was constantly mixing up all the kiddos’s papers.

So last year, in an effort to keep everyone organized, I rearranged our garage and creating specific zones for different items: shoes, backpacks, hats, gloves, and of course, papers. Now the only thing that need to be done is a little tidying and chatting with each kiddos as to where their items need to be.

We had a cabinet that once stored all the craft supplies, but now it’s been repurposed to hold all the paperwork—everything from school handouts to mail and bills. It all needs a dedicated space, and for me, that means keeping it tucked away in a closed cabinet. With my two littles now in Kindergarten they will have their own slot for papers so some rearranging will need to be done.

One other thing I’ve noticed that helps with mornings with multiple kids, is having multiple hooks for each kiddos. We have hooks in the garage currently for their backpacks AND coat but we also have hooks inside in our small mudroom if they want to hang their coat there instead. With having a smaller mudroom, the garage hooks are necessary to keep things organized.

Maybe you have a large mudroom in your home, or maybe you have some space in your garage for some of these zones. Regardless of where they are, creating them is the first step to keeping organized. At least I’m hoping so. 😝
