Design Project Revealed: Before & After

You wonโ€™t believe this transformation!

This bathroom just fell flat. The flooring and cabinetry combo just felt dark and dreary. In order to keep costs down, the homeowners opted to keep their vanity. They decided on new doors and painting the cabinet boxes. We did decided to replace the middle cabinet so the countertop would be all one height. Another big change was the shower. Before if felt quite dark and on the small side. Below are some of the main features we changed out in this primary bath.

  1. Wet Shower

This was a total gut job. They wanted to try and add a tub and make this feel bigger than it previously did. They were willing to sacrifice the linen closet to do that though. So we took that cabinet out, and actually made the wet shower about 9โ€ wider. In order to do this we did have to move the door some, but overall looks like it was that way from the beginning. We went with a line drain the shower which then allows for larger tile on the shower floor. This creates a large feel in the room while also eliminating grout lines. I personally love the look. Another thing I always suggest for a shower is a handheld wand. Even if you donโ€™t think you will use this personally while showering, it is WONDERFUL while cleaning your shower.

  2. Vanity

I mentioned it above but one way to cut costs in your remodel is to keep the exiting cabinets and paint them. The homeowners decided to get new doors so they had an updated door style but was able keep the cabinet box to paint them. They opted for a shaker style door which updates the feel of this vanity. We also decided to take out the middle lowered portion, so the countertop could be one level. With that middle portion needing to be new, we added a drawer for a little extra storage.

  3. The Details

The details are essential. The hardware, accessories, and other finishing touches all play a significant role in the overall design.

As this project comes to a close, it's been incredible to see how these design choices transformed this space into a true reflection of the homeowners' style and needs. From the cabinetry to the hardware, each element came together seamlessly. Iโ€™m thrilled with the results and look forward to more exciting projects ahead.
