Curtains 101

Let me tell you how I really feel…

I love curtains. I will add them to any space. Once you add them, you’ll too know the reason and feeling of why they are a negotiation-able. Even if you have blinds or shades, I will usually add a drapery to the window. Adding curtains/drapery adds a softness and coziness to any space! Below are a list of other reason why I love curtains and will almost always suggest them for you.

  1. Privacy: Curtains provide a level of privacy by covering windows and preventing people from easily seeing inside your home. This is especially important for bedrooms and living spaces.

  2. Light Control: Curtains allow you to control the amount of natural light entering a room. You can open them to let in more light or close them to darken a room, providing flexibility depending on the time of day or your mood.

  3. Temperature Control: Curtains can help regulate the temperature inside a home. They provide insulation by trapping heat during colder seasons and blocking sunlight during warmer months, contributing to energy efficiency.

  4. Decoration: Curtains are an essential element of interior design. They come in various styles, colors, and patterns, allowing you to enhance the aesthetic appeal of a room and coordinate with other furnishings.

  5. Noise Reduction: Thick and heavy curtains can help dampen outside noise, providing a quieter and more comfortable living environment.

  6. UV Protection: Sunlight can cause fading and damage to furniture, flooring, and other items inside your home. Curtains act as a barrier, helping to protect your belongings from harmful UV rays.

  7. Versatility: Curtains come in a variety of styles, materials, and sizes, making them suitable for different window types and interior design preferences. Adding new textures create a sense of cozy in any space.

I believe curtains serve both practical and decorative purposes in a home, offering solutions to issues such as privacy, light control, temperature regulation, and interior design.

Here are some of my favorite affordable curtains and accessories to go a long with them! Enjoy making your space more cozy during these colds months! ;)
