New Year’s Goals (Home Edition)
Do you love a fresh start?
When a new year begins, I’m always looking for a fresh start in multiple ways. Below are some ideas on how to get your home ready for just that.
If you’re anything like me, you also have projects that need to be finished up still from the past year. So the first “project” I’ll be tackling is getting out of the 95% club. That’s right, I’m the queen of leaving 5% of some projects… So I’m going to make myself a list of all the projects that were almost finished. 😉 Believe me, I’d rather start a whole new fun project, BUT it will feel so nice to have those small things completed!
The next thing that I’ll be spending my time doing, is decluttering and cleaning. Purging, throwing away, donating is so good for the soul. Especially right after your kids received a bunch of things right?! Out with the old and in with the new. After the decluttering and donating, what’s not a better time then to organize! Get yourself some cute bins and get to work!
Lastly, get to dreaming! There are always projects to be done, something new to try. I love switching up a room with items from a different room, repurposing furniture or paint, or completely adding something new. Make a list of each “project” you want to accomplish within your home for the next year. It can vary from print family photos to paint bedroom to add a fireplace in the living room.
So… let’s recap. These are the things I’m planning to do for this upcoming year.
Get out of the 95% club
Declutter and deep clean
Make a list of all future projects
Coming soon to the blog is my favorite organizational tools and products to start the new year off on the right foot.
