IKEA Rast Dresser Hack
Here’s how I transformed my $60 dresser into a statement piece.
I was in need of storage for my nightstands, but everything I liked was above my budget. While browsing online for nightstands of the right size, I stumbled upon this wooden dresser from Ikea. Though not exactly a dresser, it offers storage similar to one, albeit not overly spacious. In my opinion, it's an ideal fit for a nightstand if you have sufficient space on both sides of your bed.
Another feature I consider when buying furniture is legs. Opting for pieces with legs rather than those that sit directly on the floor creates a sense of openness and makes the room feel more spacious. With this dresser, I decided to omit the bottom wood piece during assembly since it doesn't compromise stability. If this is an option, I'd recommend leaving it off.
Additionally, I chose a stain color that strikes a middle ground to infuse warmth into my bedroom, especially since there weren't many wood tones present.
I opted for large cabinet pulls instead of the original knobs that came with the dresser. This choice enhances the design and gives the dresser a higher-end appearance without increasing the cost to significantly.
