My Favorite Paint Supplies
Do you enjoy painting? I have mixed feelings. 🤣
I love the idea of what paint can do. But the time it can take sometimes makes us not go through with our ideas. Is that you too?? I have accumulated my favorite paint supplies to make the job easier on you! Let’s take a look!
I’m going to break down my favorite paint supplies for you. I’m hoping these items make this easier for you to get your vision across so you can enjoy your home to it’s fullest.
*Paint Roller — These Purdy paint products are the best! For large walls and spaces, I will always suggest the 18” roller. For this roller you will need to buy the extension pole and roller frame separate from the actually roller. This is a higher cost upfront but let me tell you, it’s so worth it. You will cover more of the wall with this larger roller. Time is money, and this goes so much faster. If your wall isn’t that large, or you are painting in-between trim like board and batten, then this big of a roller will be more of a hassle than anything. You will also need to purchase the larger paint tray if you go with the larger roller.
*Paint Brush — I have and use both short and long handled brushes. I prefer using the short handle angled brush for trim and edges. It’s so much easier to hold and stay steady when painting.
*Paint Sprayer — I love using a paint sprayer when necessary. When you are paint cabinetry or furniture using a sprayer is so much easier and quicker. Not to mention the finish will be a cleaner finish. Remember to read the directions with the paint ratio and also to clean it out correctly!
*Painters Tape — I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t use this on every painting project. It is another step that takes time, but is very necessary. Using tape will help you protect the areas you don’t want paint to get on. Saves you time later with you need to clean up those paint
*Drop Cloths — I’ll also admit I don’t always use a drop cloth when I’m working on a paint project. And if I would go back to some of those, I absolutely would have put one down. I’ve ruined more than one area of carpet before. 😬 Again, you will save yourself time and money when needing to cover any mistakes later on.
And obviously with any paint project, you need paint! Primer is also something needed but not always. I don’t have a specific paint brand I’m in love with. It’s the actually color that is more important for me. Make sure you ask your paint store about what sheen is best depending on which area of the house you are painting. With the higher sheen of paint, the easier to clean.
HAPPY PAINTING! 😃
